Great update! I really like the checker switcher now, totally useful, nice work! I think the point of the relinking script was so that you could run it on a bunch of files without having to open them? I didn't look at the script but I think its been linked before.
I think chuggnuts UV tools modifies or all together gets rid of that floater. If I remember correctly it overwrites the main unwrap script(s) with modified versions from that time (max 4, 5, or 6?). I think Pior would need to get fresh copies of the scripts it overwrites?
There's also that hard/soft edge script on scriptspot that lets you deal with smoothing groups in the maya way. Perhaps that could be deconstructed and put to the task? I mean I daresay it could be as easy as 'clear smoothing, set all faces to 1, grab uv shell edges, run harden edge script'.
Yeah actually this shouldn't be too hard (although it's much easier in Maya), Pier Jansson wrote a hard/soft edge script, it should be possible to easily get the "border edges" of all UV shells, and then run his script on those, and bingo it's done. Smoothing Groups really make this a pain in the ass, though.
ok last update for a while: uv_toolbox_2.22.mzp changes/ fixes:* copies bitmaps (interface + 2 checkermaps) to $scripts meaning your 3dsmax scripts directory. Hope that works for most people instead of the former used $images folder * fixed some of the option stuff that would produce errors before (some varaible =…
