Well. Looks Joeriv pretty much killed it :D fwiw I fucked the proportions and angle the grip intersected with square portion. But w/e. was good practice. @Joeriv: It's always fun looking back on a finished model and laughing at the wires. :poly124:
That was great guys :D I was past the middle point so I feel good about that :P I think I went overboard on the edge termination though, haha Lots of fun, learned a lot. Thanks for doing this, and yeah, another! hehe
You cant kill the entire "issue" or artifact with your topology. Curved surfaces need to be Consistent. You know, almost even spacing between edges. i have the same issue but less visible. Ignore the edge in the middle just added it for fun.
I don't think it needs to be a competition, just a fun way to challenge yourself to get better, and hopefully learn from others. Its fun talking about different ways to approach a shape with people, also to see what workflows people come up with. Even if people cannot model the shape that gets posted each week, they could…
Easily until I hit the receiver piece, and then much more slowly :) edit: actually that looks like it would be crazy fun to model. Once you solve the tricky bit it all looks pretty easy, unless you want to model that embossed detail in.
Mine's kind of elongated, but the results are close to what I was aiming for. Also did it in about 30 min (in between actual work, I'm at the office). Thanks for the help Perna and Pedro, this was a fun little exercise. Before now, I hadn't really used booleans efficiently.
so last week or so i had to model some "harder" shape, i´ve recreated a part of it with quick booleans i have to admit that i spent quite some geometry on it, but the requirements were to be acurate (had to work off a technical drawing) have fun
ok got in my head and decided to whip this test out hope this helps I used a turbosmotth of 2 btw with more time I am sure you can get the shape better to i just extrude the hole nothing special go on and then I tried a few shapes for fun
Yeah this is working way better. I made a bool version that looks pretty nice, but maya's basic tools for that are a pain in the butt. Thanks for your help edit - i had to add some creasing in the corners to get it sharper but still GG overall. Now I'm attaching it to a beveled cube which is... fun...
hey guys having trouble with this stock trying to decide the best way to make these edge loops go, any ideas? i dont know where to host my .obj either, but i have one. any help would be appreciated, im kinda new to sub d and find it extremely fun but puzzling at moments
