This stuff has really destroyed my brain. I'm not applying for any jobs until I'm at least half as good as this. If the money runs out I may have to settle for a quarter. Inspirational and brain destroying in equal measures.
Fantastic work Kevin, saved to my inspiration folder. I'd bet a lot of folks* would learn quite a bit if you were kind enough to dissect a piece of work of yours and go through the creation process. *me included :D
Just have to add my two cents to this thread. :D Kevin's work is really inspirational! Thanks for posting it up here! Its nice to read your processes, and the time spent on specific assest! Thanks for the awesome thread! ~C :D
Hello Kevin. Thanks for all the inspiration :) Youre creations are real benchmark in your field. Ive acctually started to try and move away from the safe gardens of zbrush to try and train with hardsurface stuff in maya. It wasnt as easy as i though, damn hard acctually. :)
ahhh shit.. this makes me depressed knowing how far I need to go to become great. but at the same time your work is extremely inspiring. I am literally in awe of what I am viewing. I am curious to know your work flow. What software was used?
Hey kevin, (hope this q hasnt been asked before), do you have a big library of panel shapes etc, or do you just make them as you go? i'm working on a ut3 style turret using your work as inspiration - infact i'll make a thread soon so hopefully you can check it out.
YOur work is truly amazing. I have just graduated from uni and was thinking of specialising in environment but thought I would have to look more into Level design. But after seeing your work I think I am going to crack on a learn ZBrush more to get up to similar standards of your work. Thank you for being such and…
Brilliant work you have here. Your an inspiration to me not only because of the quality of your work but how well you respond to everyones questions. I would loooove if you could make a timelapse video of you creating one of your highly detailed assets. To look over a talented shoulder as they work is one of the things I…
wow.. just wow. what I'm wondering is where you get the inspiration for all this. I've been looking at the UT3 editor quite a bit but seeing the high poly versions makes you realize how much work was put into it. really.. I've been awe-struck for the last ten minutes now and I gotta close my browser now or I'll sit her all…
Hi Kevin, Thanks for the description. Are you concepting this stuff off the top of your head? Are the concept artists giving you the basic forms and then you improvise with all the little details? I'm curious to see the concept art. We should hold contests where you pick a reference photo or concept and all of us here…
