Long time no post, but it's only because I haven't been at the computer, not that I haven't been photographing. http://myx100year.blogspot.com/2011/06/portrait-session.html and http://myx100year.blogspot.com/2011/06/larger-post.html DSCF1993.jpg by mr-chompers, on Flickr
@mryogesh123 - Fuck. That. Here is a self portrait I shot the other day in a studio. Based off Jill Greenbergs work. Specifically her early work for Dexter. It's obviously been retouched like crazy. But that was the style I was shooting for so I went for it.
Took some photos of my friends when I went back to Sweden for a week. :) We actually ventured out onto the frozen water, like a 100m out on the sea. Cool place for portraits I tell you xD More shots over at: http://swedishgeek.com
Thanks for the write-up man! Really informative. I like your style a lot - What kind of lens do you use for portraits? Anything special? I only ask because I know some people are pretty fond of using a macro lens for portraiture.
I am an exchange student in Kauhajoki, Finland, the town where the school shooting happened on tuesday. Being that I aspire to be a professional photographer myself, I shot about 600 frames covering the site and people's reactions as well as the memorial service in town. This portrait is of the saddest man I've ever seen.
Thanks for the kind words guys. Fomori, there is some interesting bokeh going on in that second picture, what kind of lens is that? LoTekK, cool lighting on that portrait; getting random people to stand for photos is something I'm getting into myself. Took this one about a week ago in the SoDo industrial district south of…
Most homeless people don't mind if you take their picture, all they really want is money. Also many of them come up to me and ask for money, after which I ask if I can take their picture. I rarely go up to someone and ask to take their portrait unless I really want their picture; it never hurts to ask. It also helps that I…
Fantastic shots, Paul. Love the color grading on them. fomori, awesome photo Was at my favorite bar yesterday, turned into a bit of an impromptu photo session. Took this one outside while I was having a smoke, of the guy on cleanup duty. Wanted to get used to asking random people for portrait ops. I was trying to find a…
Yes I'm having a lot of fun with it, it can be pretty hard to control, but at the same time, offers a really unique viewport with the extreme perspective distortion. I actually thought I would have to do a lot more work to "de-fish" it, but the barrel distortion isn't so bad when shot level. Its a 8mm 3.5 Fisheye for…
Oh, I got a lot to learn, I know that, only a shoddy workman blames his tools. But this 350d body is quite old, I already bought it second hand, some signs of wear and I lost the rubber visor where you look into. But the biggest problem is the stock lenses I've been using (18-55). I definitely need something better, I'd…
