Hey jogshy, I was wondering why you haven't compiled your latest sbm exporter for 3ds max 2011 or even lower versions - there are still quite a couple of '11 licenses floating around at here at our office ;-) Of course you probably have your reasons, so this isn't a complaint really.
First off amazing app. I have the same issue in the viewer with the most recent download. I can not see my models. If I turn on cage, normals etc they show up. The ui and the grid displays fine. I am running on a laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with all the latest
Why does xNormal crash at the end of every render I do? This is the first time I use xNormal in Windows 7 (32bit). I get this problem signature: It does not save my settings after the crash as it usually did in XP when it crashed there. I am using the latest xnormal version. Any ideas? Thanks

The xN SBM exporter automatically triangulates the model using the Maya's API. Maybe, as triangulation might depend on the normals and edges, the resultant topology is different than the external cage.
