The video's shown already doesn't seem to be 30fps, and considering something like mariokart which definately will be 60fps. And besides, it's not alternating screens at 120fps, it's rendering one single screen that is 800x240 at 60fps,.
Kriscash. When I started painting they give me a advise that proved to be a good one: Don't be afraid of the black colour. I mean add contrast. It will define the shapes and provide volume.
I think you can go on with vertex lighting: the final result should appear quite better. ;) You can break up the polygons a bit to define precisely the dark/light areas.
well there are a lot of polys there that don't really define shape. specially around the eye, nose, etc. you can chop them off without any decrease in quality, and throw them somewhere else.
@renderhjs Not necessarily. I find that if you rotate it so that the edges are defining the silhouette you can make it look a lot more detailed than it really is. When working with these budgets it´s important to use every triangle to define shape, you can improve the shape by adding two or three triangles to make the…
@pshyco: his texture doesn't help define the shape, pretty much the opposite. Those 'scales' don't have volume and overall things look too busy. Also, lots of stretching on the shoulders. I'd rework that
cool bola, maybe add them alpha trials, i also like the way in the concept the head/hood is sunk more into the body. The edges of the model could use some detail to define the edge more.
the seperations make for somethat that looks like it should eb in the PS1 era, if you seperated the model at the remaining major joints youd complete the effect the thighs should be longer, like almost as long as the body, while the shins are two thirds of the thigh as a general guideline shoulders could use better…
@TacitusD - I know its not THAT important (for portfolio work at least) but I see alot of wasted space, or more space that could be gained by more tiling/reuse. The tiles ontop of the cart could be condensed into 1x corner, 1x outside and 1x inside. so the 12 square pieces of metal would become 3 pieces (with alot more…
hi omnione! your windmill is definately not a placeholder. I contacted you previously about freelance cos your Models are fab. sadly you are tied down. and yes if you could be a doll, it appears theres some issues with the mills opacity.
