Drayton, is that 60 cars running on your computer/browser or actually on a phone? What framerate are you getting with that many cars? Either way it's impressive, in fact I think that PhysX engine is the best thing about Unity by far, it seems fast and solid.
Looks cool as heck, NoisyMonk! Did you think of making the legs 3 sided rather than 4? You might be able to make the outside of each leg flat (without the middle seam, I mean), especially if it's going to be small and fast in-game. [edited for poor spelling]
Nice first low poly bill, does'nt even look like an first x) can we see some wires later? Tonight I made that funny guy from machinarium, he miss some more details but i got bored of him fast :P
Thanks MikeF! ^^ Eeh... I would like tho crash my head against the nearest wall because of this, fast futuristic racing games are something I really love to create and play But this was a commercial project, and there weren't any publisher interested on this... And it looks like it's the same for homebrew coders...
Is this thread going to get another bump in specs with the release of the Psvita, I know this topic has been beat to death before, but small devices are getting so much better so fast I feel like it should just be called the "Efficient" thread pretty soon. I'm dumb though.
First : sorry i posted too fast forgetting that we are in low poly , sorry again ! (i just wanted to make more alive this forum's thread) Dr_Graevling : "You'd do well to study some models other people have posted on the forums and look at the way the edges flow on them" Removed !
When I saw mrmmaclean post I though: That is a such nice optimization and a great advice! Then Cactus Fantastico learned and did a nice tree. Not enough Zoid has done a 16x16 texture for the same tree. That is just amazing... Cactus Fantastico, this is my advice: Keep going, you are learning fast and helping me…
Some fast basic strokes under photoshop in coloring mode I'll have to paint lot more details colors and things like steel pieces. For the eyes : perhaps some separate models with a reflexion shader or copy/paste a photo refrence ? what's best method ? I think i'll use this pretty bad guy for a beat them up arcade game .
Thanks alot! Heres a new fast practice.. painting some basic foliage/grass..(Diffuse + Spec) Not very happy with the way Marmoset does Alpha. Had to take a screenshot (Print button) instead of using Marmoset Toolbag F12 because the result was that the 100% alpha areas of the grass would turn 50% grey. Does anyone know how…
modeling is an art and anyone who likes low poly art will always buy low poly art products to support the art style, or so i hope. i wish games were still made with low poly assets rather than this stuff today. games with low poly art always felt more fun to me. these new games get boring so fast..
