Pseudo, TGZ, nice stuff these last couple of posts! I've made a start on a concept for the current CGChat contest... looks like a really good competition this time round, basically designing really heavy armour for humans/aliens/creatures/whatever... fun! Pretty much done the sketch, gonna do a Photoshop painting over it…
Hey Adamlewis, cool creature! I like the feel of it, looks like some kind of weird unknown material. There is something odd about the renders tho, I read it as very flat? Like a cardboard cutout. Maybe it's because of the strange castshadows, makes it look squashed somehow. I'd love to see a proper 3/4 perpective view.
kakikukeko: I think the curve of the back looks excellent from the images provided. Might have something to do with the curve of his chest compared to his back? as it looks fairly straight on the front view.. hard to tell though. What do I know though anyway :P Excellent work! My first normal mapped character/creature…
You have to scratch it Suprore, a lot of small hard strokes in a high subD would lead to some good hair. You can also try to use a alpha with a lot of points so you dont have to do that much. But thats detailing, so make it in the end. Here is my new creature: I finally found the perspective button. Sculpted from Z spheres

Pior : Hep you! stop to play with fresnel, or you'll transform into fresnel creature . I'm sure you already seen everything arround with fresnel effect ah ah (please help him! He already look lot of girls and mans with this fresnel all days!) Actually trying to explain my workflow for work quickly. I'm again looking for…
crazy weird sec. My suggestion would be to ditch the hair, or spread it through the body. As it is it looks out of place. Secondly, the eyes are cartoony. Its ok to have huge eyes, but grab some ref on creatures with huge eyes. Gotta work it off from nature in one way or another. Next, The head shape seems a bit too…
