Started working on the textures, no color is set yet, still trying to find a nice belance without making it too flat. texturing and colors aren't really my thing :p I was thinking to make the head more greenish, none the less here's the result so far:
That looks realy awesome, especially ingame :D Only your image doesn't do the balde any justice, not sure whcih program u used for it, but it might be an idea to make a specular map for it so it shines better and ppl will read it better :) Great job none the less, can't wait to see it ingame!
I was honestly surprised at the popularity of the Lotus chest from what I've seen. I thought it was going to be one of the lesser popular chests, considering none of the items stood out as much as say, Frump's Catalyst Cap or the Pudge 'stache and comb-over. It's a shame Lotus items aren't on http://dota2.stats.tf yet.
Whats with the wards? I saw lich ward earlier,now a warlock's one. I know there we're some custom wards already in game,but none with hero theme on it? Are they supported?Hero theme wards? They strike me as a easier project to take for a start,till i get a hang of it. But im not sure if they are submitable thought.
Hmm haven't seen a button where you can test your item ingame.. At least not in the main client, did someone test it with the dota2test? Low res shield update. I've baked normals and block out a very rought diffuse. None of the shader masks are being used yet, I reapply them tomorrow. I've still got 35 tris to play around with and I can probably squeeze a few more here and there to get a bit more depth into the models geo.Vestments of the Seer
@Largs: I'm affraid you are really getting to much into detail! From a distance none of the detail will be noticable and it will just make it really noisy. I limit my models to quads not tris, I'm fairly sure they are triangulated when they're compiled to MDLs. I've heard people say the limit is for tris but none of my models would have been accepted if that were the case.
