Ive also been trying to random draw, and just not care how much it sucks. I think that most of the pages on my notebooks are half full of drawings. Ill do a dump soon. Im learning a lot about painting In photoshop (and im working on an actual painting in art class). I so thankful for my tablet nowadays. -

Does school really influence you guys that much? I dropped history, drawing and music as soon as I could and now I'm studying history at university, drawing a couple of pages a day, while listening to Bach. Those 7 years of high school equivalent left remarkably little. It's a bit cheap to blame it all on the educational… -
Re: To Tablet, or not to Tablet...
You can get both types. I havent tried a screen/tablet combo but i find a tablet just fine (I also come from more of a drawing background) http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/ For sketching the bigger the tablet the better. Small tablets force you to draw from the wrist making your arcs pretty wobbly and crappy. -

Good work man, but At first I was kind of suspicious, becasue there was top notch stuff mixed in with mediocre and honesty sloppy drawings and I found the sloppy drawings before the good stuff. I would get rid of the older 2d stuff or find a way to seperate them so that veiwers wont get the wrong idea. good stuff though! -

Progress shot of what I've been working on recently! I'm really having fun playing with textures and trying out alternative ways to make them. @sargisstg Drawing is very helpful indeed, its harder to design inside 3d software than it is to design on paper first. You dont necessarily have to be an expert draftsman but spending a significant amount of time on paper first will enhance your 3d design massively. Thank you. I have been trying to push myself to draw at least 7 hours a week on top of my studio classes. I really need to get into the darn 3d... I have both maya and max and yet I still have to learn it... I keep on feeling like I need to just focus on my drawing and painting skills first... -
