Hi, I also do wonder about how 3d scanning hasn't made modelers/texturing artists dealing with realistic humans redundant. What are the exact reasons that there is still a need for sculptors while creating digital doubles? Thanks.
KSMO, Thanks man ya the gun is my own design, I'm gladpeople like it :) . I was thinking of a chipped self painted digital camo, almost like the guy who uses the weapon tried to do it himself. here's the wires!
I think we can do this for you, what is the start date and deadline date for your project? I work with Digital Shock, more info about us at digitalshock.net or feel free to email me at info@digitalshock.net. Thanks!
Been a while since posting to this thread, so I thought I'd add some new stuff! Here are some anatomy studies from Scott Eaton's Digital Figure Sculpture course. Awesome course and highly recommended! John
I enjoyed reading about this method. A lot of it is just normal-digital painting. You could stencil on the eyes and just use a matcap for it as well. http://magazine.artstation.com/2016/02/ekaterina-pushkarova-creating-ed-harris-likeness-zbrush/
I've not been neglecting my daily modeling, It's just been too much effort to upload and post the images to multiple forums, here's a link to the forum where it's mandatory that I post my sketches. LMP Digital Sketchbook @ Gamestepper.com
Great art classes on YouTube. And painting on photoshop is invaluable skill for 3d artist. I think the ease and flexibility of digital painting is great for discovering the joy in creating. Just forget the results for awhile and have fun. Develop broader interest.
bamboo will be a perfect replacement for your mouse and great tool to use in sculpting applications; if you plan to do digital painting, you will want to purchase a larger intuos at some point. if you work as a concept artist professionally, it will be a good investment.
I think that for starting out, digital tutors will give you the most complete understanding of all the tools you have in Max, period. It may be slow, but you will no every single small thing. Or close to it. As well as develop good habits.
I haven't bought a PC game in the last 10 years that didn't have some sorta anti-piracy system in place and steam is the easiest and transparent for me, no typing in a stupid 20 digit key or having to hang on to a box/booklet.
