Thanks for the advice man! How's this: As for the text decals, I've been trying to shove them in, but since I am cramping the entire model into a single 2K texture, the quality of the text was rubbish. Any idea how to go about the logos? Perhaps a separate texture?
I feel like something can be done with DirectX/OpenGL hardware tessellation to mimic the effect of smears in real-time somehow. At least in such a way to have some tessellated vertices to 'drag' behind and have some sort of delay during a quick bone motion.
insider tip: launching MMO's hasn't gotten any easier - it would have probably been better to delay the European launch until Friday. If it really was BY AMERICANS FOR AMERICANS it would have launched in NA with the European launch coming some time next year.
Yeah all good points. In this case all pillars had individual details, so cloning wasn't an option. On the other hand, the decal idea is pretty good. That could have worked for this. Ok! I think get it now, I appreciate your help with this! :)
Just wanted to let you guys know I changed my website around a bit. let me know what you think! http://alexwellsartist.weebly.com/ More content coming in soon. Been a bit of a delay due to some freelance work recently.
Okay, so here is robot update part deux. I think I have his design about where I want it. Colors/decals might change at some point, but this'll work for now. Thanks for all the feedback, fellahs. It's helping the process. :)
Thanks for last night guys. It was fun seeing all of you. rolfness you crazy fool! Hope you had a great night! rens you drunken dutchman! You need to invest in an umbrella, dont want you to getting a cold and delaying bf3.
The splatters can be placed on later with decals. You should also make sure you have your hard/soft polys, or smoothing groups setup properly to give hard edges the right look. This is especially important if you're not going to be using a normal map.
I mailed my high res version, sorry for the delay I shrunk him and slapped him onto the poster to see how it would look Thanks for your patience, Fred. Feel free to color correct to fit it in, looking forward to the final poster!
I have nothing against Apple or the Mac OS. I love that they design useful interfaces for their software...decades ahead of Windows and Linux. But, $600 for a fancy PDA running Max OS X that will still drop your calls (I use Cingular)...no thanks.
