indeed - getting that roof on there helped tremendously. Are you planning on having some materials floating off to the side there? because i like this plan... I know you're not done, but i do believe that them windows are currently distracting from the rest of the piece - even overpowering the other floors.
Scale might be of a bit some of the gaps look a lot larger in the blockout compared to the concept did a quick paint over to show what I mean. The lights on the roof look really small too. Some minor changes should fix it though :) Nice work so far!
Ok quick update got a tree sculpted out and did a quick render with a base texture from keyshot to see if i like the look. I think i do. This tree will be holding the roof up. And i have some knotwork i drew up for the main archway.
Make a backwards game, where you start off as this allmighty powerful wizard/knight. And you resurrect the dragon, put the princess back into the tower, put the treasure back in the chest... put the sword back into the stone.. and the purpose of the game is to try and be a peasant farm boy in a thatch roofed cottage.
Looks nice! Two things bother me though; -Walls and Roofs seem to have a lot of unnecessary tris / edges. -Scaling looks strange in some ways. For eg. some of the crates are even bigger than the doors, same goes for the well (would require a ladder to use it this way ;) ).
I have no idea why and this isn't an attack against you but your avatar is one of those things that just makes me angry for no reason.... Kinda like this banana shop with an obnoxious fiberglass banana bunch on its roof on the way to my dads house, it has the same effect.
Johnny if it's for Stainless it's for an RTS. . . though I thought Stainless went belly up? Model looks good, texture could be a bit more colorful/detailed. Since the roof is a big part of what we'd see, you'll need to come up with something other than a blank plane.
do Rice Krispies rip apart the roof of anyone else's mouth? I hope it's not just me, and it's not syptomatic of some serious medical condition that's everso slowly destroying me. Or are you supposed to slop so much milk over them they just become pointless? "Rice floppies"
Might want to add an old mining lamp. A burning torch is a bit of a fire hazard :) If you are going to stick with what you have due to time constraints you might want to add a black sooty decal to the roof. Or an old Roman lamp, they say these burnt for years! :O
Textures are underway - tiling roof texture, tiling bark texture and the buildings, platforms and bridges share a wood/rope texture. Playing around with lighting....all a bit too green still. The fog is still a bit dense as well. Added a placeholder tree branch to play around with silhouettes..! :)
