Hi, I'm a student digital arts and animation and I'm trying to create a nice animation piece for my reel. I've done most of the blocking and some of the detailing right now, but it just feels really boring and flat. Any critiques or tips on how to make it more alive/ fun to watch or just better are really appreciated!…
Hey guys,I'm a student trying to improve my skills in general, I am basing my environment on this image from the game ZombieU. I Just started the block out and am trying to work out the scale, but I always seem to struggle with getting the scale similar to the concept. I'll keep working on it but any pointers would be…
Getting started on another. Did some thumbs harped on the idea of carrying silhouette. Something that seems to be getting lost, often with students such as myself, because we as humans tend to lean toward certain shapes we like. Instructor chose the one circled in red obviously. Moving forward with advanced thumbnails.
I will eventually sculpt is in zbrush, but that's a fair way down the road. I haven't taken the time to learn zbrush; I don't really have much time, being a student and all. I'll try redirecting some geometry in the back of the head, and i'll make the breasts sag a little lower. Thanks :)
That's got to do with the requirement that a masters should prepare you to do your own academic research. A masters allows you to do a PhD. Basic research skills are pretty much a requirement for that. I doubt that many of your fellow students will go that route, but since it's possible, the uni has to prepare them.
Also, I'm not able to change the lambert1 inside the attribute editor. Where it says Type. It is grayed out. I've noticed a correlation with these problems. And oglu, thanks for the help. I'm not sure about alpha channels... I'm a student and I'm not following.. wish I could! But I'm just using default lighting.
On the other hand, if you say No and instead say you know modding and 'want to become' a person working in the industry, you get checked in almost immediately. I think I was able to get into a whole slew of Beta's in the past couple of years when I was student based upon this information alone.
Hello @Prime8 This is a student room I'm creating for my portfolio, I think I have two objects that have glass material. I don't remember using the cell fracture :( If you have blender and would like to check on my file here's the link https://we.tl/t-36yeOElWiD
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I'm still a student but have seen tremendous growth over the last 4 years not only in my skills but also who I am as a person, and I'm glad you found a way to translate it into a meaningful post with lots of heart.
Has anybody tried transitioning from Max to Blender? My student license is going to expire soon and so chances are I'll have to pick up a cheaper/free 3D package to replace Max for a while, which sucks because Max is the only package I've really dedicated time to learning.
