Hey Capone! So we can troubleshoot this issue together, I'll need some images of what's going on with your installation of the Suite. If we can't resolve it here, we can refer it to the Quixel Live Support Facebook group and get you fixed up quickly.
An alpha version of the Finger Statues with a glowing orb instead of face. Still need to fix up the UV's a little and polish in Substance painter. The green polygon in the Maya file will be the interchangeable base for all the different faces to differentiate the towers.I'm worried the towers aren't distinguishable quickly…
i see. well i only have intuos-experience really but there you can lift the pen at least a centimeter over the tablet surface and it still registers. so it should not be a problem of thickness, rather you will shred the paper quickly if you do choose anything but a very smooth one. :)
how do plan on doing his hair? it might be good to sculpt in some very basic hair to get a better representation of the overall shape of his head. it will probably help you see if you're hitting his likeness. same with eyebrows, maybe quickly paint on some simple eyebrows.
I still think the eyes on this model - or the place that people choose to paint them - is too high up and too far apart. Otherwise I really like what you've done. You should take it thru a current-gen workflow and rock a highpoly for it. EDIT:Did this quickly during lunch...
while the textures and polygon flow are both pretty bad, this is a rather neat method of quickly mocking something up.. depending on how powerful the software is, it could be useful for creating high poly meshes.. kinda interesting to see the old method of making a *real* model and then scanning it in take a new twist.
This is really sad to hear. I'm glad that people are offering help. I know it can be a hard road to climb from what I have seen of people who were laid off here in late Spring. I hope people are able to quickly recover and land new jobs.
isn't that a press release that they announced the product for this year? doesn't mean it's right around the corner, or? I suspect them to bring it out around summer/autumn as always, otherwise I am with Mop that it seems too quickly edit: nevermind it will ship March 25th and subscribers get both versions
Thanks for the tips I really can't wait to get there, but I know the next month will pass far to quickly anyway. I'll see some of you guys at the sketchgroups I imagine. I miss having a regular sketch/art time and with people I'm at least familiar with, it will be all the better.
CS2 makes my machine crash when i leave it on for several hours when im modeling, i learned not to leave large files with many layers hanging around indefinitely. And im in love with Bridge, i can quickly get several textures of my choice loaded in a flash.
