It was quite a bit of time overall, but I tried to model a couple pieces a night after work when I had time. The file management, renders, exports and other cleanup stuff at the end took more time than I wanted... haha. But I ended up with a clean package of parts, so I think it's worth the time to make it presentable. -

Half a year or so ago, I scoured ebay for MX518's, and ended up buying one from Hongkong.. Should have figured, but it seems to have been a ripoff. Scroll wheel was unusable from day 1, whole thing felt too light and very flimsy. Ended up buying a real G400 and loving it. So another recommendation for Logitech. -

I wish they could've come up with a better way to track depth on the controller with IR-LED on the end or something. Those multi-colored glowing balls are super annoying and I imagine even more so for those who like to play in the dark. yup, thanks, im familiar with the options as they are now, but i want my centerline welded so i can see my end result. just like in max, it should'nt be a big deal. do people just not work this way? you need to be able to model and see your end result and not guess what the other side would look like. -

there are no hardset rules, just that if you dont bake high to low, the normalmap will be fighting with the shading on the lowpoly mesh. for flat surfaces, useing ndo2 or what ever works pretty good, i ussualy just tweak it a little and take down the blue channel on added details. in the end it doesn't have to be all 100%…
