Super inspirational work here. Some of the finest environment art I've seen in games. Visually cohesive, the right amount of detail, and wonderful color palettes. MMMMMMMMMMMM-MMMM!
Hahah, mine was too. But... you get some distortion, it tends to vertically "pinch" a bit in the middle of the rendered map. The distortion amount varies with different torus radii, but it's always there. :\
Welp I just went to your site and saw all your breakdowns/texture flats haha. Still interested in the poly count of these foliage assets and amount of LOD's ;)
Nice break down, thanks for the share! Do you recommend any particular way to decide on the amount of opacity between each layer? Things to avoid that destroy the effect?
I'm no character artist but that tri count seems pretty high for the amount of detail you have on that model. Textures look great though, is most of this all hand painted?
Hmnn you are right, the doorway doesn't look nearly refined enough, and the textures sure and please ignore the embarrassing amount of wasted space on the archway, I will sort that out!
Testing the first pass of texturing. My goal is to make the mask fit on other characters as well. But first I still have a good amount to go on the texturing side.
Yes, I definitely have gotten some freelance jobs from that section. The amount of offers that I'm getting is lower than it used to be a few years ago though.
This looks absolutely flawless, apart from the pixels for the roof of the car; something about them is jarring to me. Possibly its the amount of pixels? (i.e. just the one row).
