The Gamasutra comments are a good breakdown of why it probably failed. One of his points is how low gravity games are annoying to most players. Anyone who has played on a pub server knows that turning on low gravity is a great way to clear a server. Temporary skill-based flight, such as grenade jumping, is ok. Grappling…
Pure geo. You're not the only one who's said this, I'm referencing the original model from HL2, which is probably why it looks so janky. I'm conflicted if I should keep it like the old model or just resize it a tad for modern sake. I don't have anything new that's finished at the moment, but here's a pic of the generator…
Cool! reminds me of Midnight Nation a little, tho I'm sure won't go down the same road the comic went :) Love the concept of a cop waking up after being victim of a crime and having to solve it. Midnight Nation deals more with the "why am I dead?" with the detective bits, and this is more "who dun it," but hoping it goes…
Thanks for all of the great feedback! I changed a few things around (replaced the smaller rocks with just a few big ones, added more grass) Does it look better now? Not sure why the lighthouse has a lighting problem but here are the wires: a few notes: the white stuff is seagull poop, and the people who live here just man…
We had a couple people who were sending incessant private messages, pestering people to do free work for them. It was an easy flick of a switch to turn it on, so heck why not? It's not a necessary feature though. We can certainly revoke it if people feel it causes more trouble than it's worth. We want to know how it works…
(lack of) warranty might be an issue to consider when buying 2nd hand. if you can live without that and the unit is in good shape, why not. there's probably a really good chance to get ahold of barely used devices since cintiqs are a bit like marmite, aren't they? as in: not for everyone. i know a few who had them at work…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] why the hell would anyone really want the industry to crash? Not to be mean myself... But I wonder as to why these boards, CGtalk and conceptart.org seem to fill up with VFS students right after a graduation, classmates all sign up and give compliments, then they all dissapear never to post again? Is there a teacher at VFS who points out these forums for students to post to after…
Computer Aided Drafting.. So I assume Autocad. Else why not list the "game" CAD program they use (Ie Radiant, or UT editor)? Especially since I thought employees want people who know a particular level editor/designer. So I would again, have assumed they meant Autocad as they make no particulars? (Especially with "3D…
[ QUOTE ] People buy graphics cards more than cpus because they are cheaper and easier to upgrade, period. [/ QUOTE ] Or they bought a computer that didn't come with a quality video card and now must upgrade... My years doing tech support I broke a lot of hearts of people who where in love with their new machine but didn't…
