Whats the point of tessellation if you're not using the new verts? Silhouette is exactly the same. There's literally no benefit (in that screenshot) over the low res with a pixel shader. Marketing gimmick IMO.
im thinking the head is a wee bit too big, it is baced on the old doom2 cyberdemon allthough getting ref for that is quite hard ... lots of pixels but not manny detail shots
A fountain with no drains!? No wonder they haven't filled it. =P JK looks great, really cool stuff with tons of character. Gotta get that pixel density under control tho =/
Now it would likely be able to do it in nanite, not sure if it handles alphas yet, but it can be used for vegetation since 5.1. but its a lot of very simple geometry some flat facing the camera some not with pixel depth offset to blend it in.
sorry, i'm not good with the math things. are low values drawn as lighter or darker pixels? And also, shouldn't the highlight on glass be super small, like a mirror?
Depending on if you have a texture size limit, I would say you could up the resolution. At the moment the texture is looking quite blurry and pixelated.
This might be a nit-pick but, is the UV islands for your characters face the same size as everything else? It seems to lack some much needed pixel density.
