Solved, under parent options had "Add instance" selected for some reason. Why would you ever want to select this option? -

Solved: I re-tried a different keyboard and now it works. Maybe it had something to do with the wacom drivers too. Cheers Mark -

The beer/pee problem could have been solved colouring the glass, in green (Heineken) or brown (Ichnusa) or if it needed to be transparent, by filling it with Guinness. -

I would solve this differently depending on how you are working. Do the characters have the same proportions? Is this for a game engine? Which engine? -

Learning a new skillset will never hurt and can help you problem solve later on. I'd highly recommend learning how to sculpt.
