damn, that is looking great glauco. if anything, i would also have to nitpick the facial hair. not the colours or placement, but rather how they interact with the surface below. they dont seem to be casting any shadows or anything which on closer inspection(as you always do with awesome art) they seem to be floating a bit. -

AFAIK everything is floating point, but the current graph bit depth determines what it gets converted to and that is 8 bit by default. You can override it and have parts of a graph be higher bit depth, like the normals. Makes a big difference on hard surface bakes (SD bakes in 16bit by default). -

You're correct in that the skidding animation for Samus doesn't look right- the skid is too airy. Currently she is floating or sliding. I would add a little bit of choppiness in the skid animation, to give the appearance of friction. I would like to look at your other animations but some of the links are not working. -

Under 1mb is golden, whether jpg or png or whatever web format floats your boat. Anim GIFs are a bit different IMO, under 3 mb seems to be OK. Though something like GIFV is better, since streaming video is generally better at preloading than stuttery GIFs. -

This is looking great! I love the light shafts in the water. A nice this to see is some ambient particles floating in the water. It will help give the scene some depth and add some nice fine detail. It would be awesome the get some good looking caustics working on the meshes also but that can be tricky. -

@Obscura, I really like that pattern for the ornament. Only thing that looks off to me is the bolts - they are floating over some edges or stuck inside them, you could probably reduce the size a little. @kimkir, thanks for the feedback! Autodesk also shipped some sample motion captures files with 2011 I think, it might have been available through subscription but is probably floating around somewhere. Biped also has the motion mixer which is great at blending different animations and even different animations on different parts.
