I would say maybe try a reinstall (like others have stated), check all your drivers (not just the graphics card one, check your chipset ones too). my dell M1710 is the same I have 4 gigs but the mobo only takes advantage of 3.25 of it. With Vista 64 bit SP1 it says I have 4 gigs but I was told that it's not actually using the full 4.
