in 3dsmax the Preview of RTT is always the like 'Complete' Map i think. You have all lighting/texture informations of the scene in the preview. Try rendering complete instead of diffuse only.
It is weird. I'm using 3dsMax 2012 too, but I have not met problem like this. If cursor hover over work window it's automatically switch to zoom when I use mousewheel
@Bruno_Camara : excellent so far. Do you normally work with such low poly base meshes? or are they stand-ins to which you replace with hi-poly created in 3dsmax/maya/etc?
Yep, here is vid for 3dsmax: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZCJF4cGPjc But unfortunately I couldn't find XNormal version, which is more interesting for people who don't use max
For modeling look into a plug-in called Nex. It costs but its worth it, especially if you're coming from 3dsMax, it will have a lot of features you'd miss otherwise. www.highend3d.com is the scriptspot.com of the Maya world.
aniceto, what program do you use to recreate the zbrush model as a subD model? does 3dsmax have good tools for doing this, or should i buy something like polyboost?
3dsmax, WrapIt. TopoGun. Sculpting apps like 3D coat and Zbrush. Good old fashioned poly modeling. Thinking ahead and planning is key so you're off to a good start =)
Hi, If you are using Max go grab Neil Blevins' SoulburnScripts - I use the Wire Maker script for most of my cabling. http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_tools/scripts/3dsmax/soulburnscripts.htm
As far as I know there isn't away to uninstall the ribbon or permanently disable GMT. If you have GMT open when you close 3dsmax it will launch when you open it next.
- Go to your Device Manager - Disable (dont delete!) the Wacom Virtual HID device - Restart Windows - Enjoy working good for me. 3dsmax 2009/2010 win7 64bit
