@Deborah_Flannagan I'd like too assume since posting their query 8yrs ago, the OP would've also invested time into studying foundational principles underpinning the traditional medium which is fundamentally distinct when transitioning across from digital.
I know i wrote i'll post mainly digital stuff, but right now i am kinda into traditional drawings :P. So here is a development of a Dr. Jekyll in space character i am making :)
What about capturing true PBR textures? Is that what the QuixelMegaBox scanner thing is capable of doing? Would the average artist be able to capture true PBR textures with a digital camera? Or would that require special lenses/setup?
So what would be the solution for a digital artist to make content that displays well on most screens? IE If I did color calibrate everything and there were no strokes visible for me; it doesn't guarantee that there wont be fore others?
well i will definately give it another, I still have to compare between XPPro64 and Seven64. As for the texture res .... I just loaded a mesh a put down a stroke - it slowed down to a one digit FPS. No good!
Sign up to Digital-Tutors for a month (or however long you need to learn pick it up) and use their videos. They have "Introduction to" videos, as well as quick looks at new features in 4 and a bunch of specific features of zBrush.
I finished these yesterday, that was pretty much my first digital painting, as for sculpting I have done a fair bit of that was speed sculpting for practice, I added the hair for interest and did not break symmetry for the sake of speed
I currently cannot draw, however am able to sculpt digitally and traditionally without any issues. Have shit perspective and shading which makes drawing fairly difficult for me, would love to practice though!
Thanks! It´s Digital Games,Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlshamn. I don´t think i will have the time to do non-school stuff anyways, I have a 6 months old daughter at home :)
fantastic character! Not sure how much you've focused on the actual pose but the hands seem a bit too stiff, I would relax some of those digits a bit as well as the wrists. Lookin forward to the finished results :)
