WIP 20a Some more love given to the normals, subdermal mask, and transluscency mask. Gave alpha to the tips of the hair, but still not satisfied with the normals. Not sure what to do.

Added a beam and some tapestry style curtains. Been trying to play with SSS (transmission mask only) + opacity mask to get a good effect, anyone got hints?
almost finished! just the masks now. added a few details to the head, shoulders and changed the misc. part. A few more shading/gradient edits once finished with the mask.
Nice change on the mask, it gives him a bit more personality. Have you tried different types of japanese mask? crazy different expressions if you google search.
how many freelance animators are actually tasked with facial animation in games? i can't tell, thats why i am asking. I would assume that anything that is this important to storytelling will not be outsourced to individual freelancers? I would have assumed that outsourcers do the more generic tasks, taking care of NPC…
Make sure your shader is setup in alpha masked (use alpha test instead of opacity). And that your LOD if you have one also has alpha masked for leaves.
Load the height map as an alpha, "Mask by Alpha", and deform on the up axis until it looks "right". But first make sure you got enough polies before you mask.
