These multi-million dollar paintings are a way to transfer wealth between the ultra-rich. They also use these paintings as charitable donations to museums which reduces their taxation. They maximize their tax avoidance when the art appreciates in value, so they try to pump up the value as much as possible. The discussion…
But the people who play games aren't going to notice all that work that went into optimizing that UV island. They're only going to be impressed by what the final visuals look like. Just like how, when I go to an art museum, the first thing I'm going to notice is what each painting looks like, and not whether the artist had…
Hi there, I'm Vince, I'm a recent grad and this is my update on my previous posts on a Panzer IV, one of the earlier versions from during the war. I did take some trim and hardware elements from the later ones because I had taken real world reference from the Romanian Military Museum where they have one on their lot.

In Battlefield Hardline on the Downtown map, at objective D and across the street from objective A on the side of the LA Natural History Museum. Both directly reference "Green tooth" or "Greentooth" alongside the Polycount logo, perhaps the only ones known to do so. The third one can be found on Episode 9 of single player…
I like this idea. The environment artist in me is coming out and if you're referring to sharing the FBX files and textures, someone could make up a scene with those that decide to share. It could work but it could also be a mess with all of the different styles of art in one scene. Maybe set a scene up to look like an art…
Can any of you guys take some closer shots, of things like the barrels and clip releasing stuff, insertion point for clips? I've seen lots of great images from places like 4chan's /k/ board but it's so hard to find references with actual mechanics, and even in military museums here it's not possible to actually touch them.
Hey thanks DWalker, that's a great interior, and it's so inviting, I could see myself sitting in that chair with my smoking jacket and slippers on :) (is it CG?) Atm I'm using the museum skybox/HDRI background image in Toolbag2 just for quickness. Once I've nailed the look I'm going for I'll look at the lighting and…

The challenge is that even if we as devs/artists see the games we've worked on as art, or its content to be artistic at the end we have no ownership of it and for the end user, this is a product they are purchasing. Its why I added, what the audience feels about it. You can assess what the audience wants through an…
