Yes, use trigger volumes. It will not be a problem for the materials unless you want to have the static mesh still be there collision-wise and you just make the material disapear (think Star-Trek cloaking), in that case, you make a new material.
That robo-cloak :) . I agree with AimBiz's points on the last environment - It feels like there's two, even three points in the scene where my eyes are drawn to, and there's a kind of strange symmetry in the size/shape of the floating rocks and the lighter area in the background.
Not updated this thread in a long time, but I've had time to work on this guy recently, currently painting him up. Still need to work on the fur and make a start on the cloak... Sword and shield need a lot of love to. Feedback welcome :3
Hello, polycount! I'm currently working on a project to add to my portfolio. I want to make a scene that has a realism style that is similar to gears of war, Fallout 4, Skyrim, ghost recon: wildland, etc. So I decided to make a vintage mantel clock that is set up near some tools and other objects. I'm hoping to learn more…
Yeah, now they have banshees that complete rip ground units to shreds more than any SC 1 unit (besides BC's Y cannon (and have cloak)), and vikings which are great AA vs everything but muta.
I posted that two pages back, I think. I'm beginning to suspect no one reads my posts because they're too long, or I have accidentally enabled a cloaking device in my web browser :p
The faces look like projections on a screen, to me. Like Kain's face in Robocop 2. The hero's face was constantly lit, but Bridges' "avatar" was cloaked/black right up until the last moment. Looks good. Want more.
Is that inverse fresnel idea how you would go about doing a "cloaking" or semi-invisibility effect? I'm thinking in terms of the Dark Templar from Starcraft. Would I use the same method to go about creating that?
Aiming to sort the hands out soon, they are too thin. The staff has an orb that needs placing atop it. Unsure about the cloth at the bottom of the robe itself on the edge, may add some more creases on the sleeves, and the may change the flow on the cloak.
Thanks for the feedback! I was going for the whole I've never seen that before vibe. Yea I'm not 100% on the cloak anymore, I might add a bit more of a space suit kinda thing. Not to sure, gotta revisit the concept i think.
