Didn't know the 3D cursor has a rotation in 2.8, nice. This add on is basically doing a "set origin to cursor" but considers the rotation as well, is that correct? Would be nice if they extend the usability of the cursor rotation as well, e.g. new object align to the rotation, add numeric input.
@MrNinjutsu you should even be able to set this toggle to the state you want by default. Just add it to your startup scene. Although I don't know if this toggle is associated to single objects or if it is global. If the latter is the case, then setting it in your startup scene should work.
I'm going to try to bake down a few assets using Blender's Bevel Shader. Is there a way to separate object baking by mesh name, so as to not have to explode the pieces intersecting? For a reference, I'm looking for something that works like Substance's bake by mesh name feature.
Hey guys I'm doing some metaball simulations, Would it be possible to get the emitted metaball object coordinate to pass into a material to use as a mask? I want the emitted metaballs from 2 different emitters to have the colors merge based on the location of said particle
I might be misunderstanding what you mean, but Alt+D does a Linked Duplicate which will create a new object but share the mesh data. You should be able to mirror the duplicate with the mirror commands. Then when you edit one mesh, they both receive the changes.
@musashidan @kanga @f1r3w4rr10r Thanks guys, I really appreciate the time to help, because it has helped me. The UV sync made it much easier for me navigate the UV of the entire object. I do think it should just be standard to see the whole UV of the object by default and if i want to isolate parts of the uv (which is a…
Wow, thanks for your effort! I have already reproduced this, works really well. I think this will be the way to go here. I have come across another little problem in the meantime. I have bought the Fluent/ Speedflow hard surface modeling plugins a while ago, and have used the 'tubify' feature to create a frame for a sign…

I've been messing around with 2.5+ for a while and actually really liking it. I keep, sometimes getting an error when I bake where it says 'No objects or images found to bake to' and I can't work out what I'm doing to break or fix it. Any ideas?
@wilson66 For one I would not use alembic, if all you do is export to substance. I would stick with OBJ or FBX. Or even better GLTF, if substance supports it. And you need to make sure that you rename not only the object in blender, but also the mesh data itself.
