Quickly threw this guy together to test out sculpting in Mud, but found my laptop's too crappy to run it. Not sure if I still want to finish him, maybe I'll just end up doing a hand-painted low poly..
made this recently for Autodesk using Mudbox 2011 beta for all the sculpting and most of the texture painting. you can find more details here: http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/gallery-finished-artwork/mudbox-2011-beta-images/
Wow Makoa, thats beautiful :) Undoz - thats so awesome, excellent lighting working on my entry to the abominable snowman sculpting challenge over at 3dtotal Im 5 hours in and got another 5 hours to fix/finish him up :)
Wanted to Link for a while now, and with the Elder Link entry in the comicon challenge over at Gamerartisans it seemed like the perfect time to start one. Just started blocking in the outfit, deciding if I want to sculpt the hair or if I want to use alpha's for it.
@Holi: where did u got the idea from? it somehow looks familiar also: maybe u should make the house more crooked? so it ll actually fits the boot. like this maybe: otherwise its an awesome sculpt, love it
@thetrooper - i suggest adding some more definition with a flatten brush of some sort, then building ontop of it again, as I agree it looks kind of blobby at this point. i think im gonna retopo + texture this dude once i finish sculpting.
Scudz, the hair should be going to the back side of his forearm, not the contours of his muscles. If you want to subtilely define the underlying muscles, that's awesome, but the hair shouldn't follow those.... gravity and all that... flow the hair sculpt to the back side of the forearm... not the front.
the beast only about an hour in zbrush, still need to do a lot of tweaking. i haven't even touched the legs. i plan on giving him some sweet ass war-torn armor after i finish up the body sculpt
doing the same as woogity today.(my only advice of any worth...hpolish...smooth....hpolish...pinch repeat as necessary.) Almost as common as the dumpster, ladies and gentlemen its the hard surface Zbrush cyborg sculpt !! *edit* added a quick paintover for giggles :)
nice one ruz! are the folds made with a mix of cloth sim and sculpting? neox: nice stuff! but I'm wondering why you don't make the stitching more obvious.. baking, texturing and a more distant camera will make them really hard to see.
