Interesting couple days in here. Chair is tempting, But I'll catch the next one. I think you should definitely do a weekly challenge! personally, I'd like to see a thread started. So you can update the OP with the current object and you don't have to worry about staying on top of this thread and worry about finding/missing…
Think I've nailed it... I used the spring object which worked better than helix as it seem to generate safer geometry than using a helix spline. However, notice how it deforms a little wierd at the top. Kinda' pushes some of the geo together too much. Any ideas? With my experience with path deform I always get this problem.
Thanks Rufuss. I did try that but this adds more loops that will be running across the whole object and I am trying to find way to do this without having too many lopps going around. They might be a way to terminate them extra loops just after the second ring but I have not found a successful way to do it yet. Thanks for…
I've got a quick question, glancing over the responses in the thread I see people saying that pentagons, and 8 sided faces are useful for this model, I'm more of a character modeller so I'm not really educated in advanced object modelling, but I thought pretty much any type of ngon was bad, maybe someone can shed some…
My question what exactly you want to describe the top shape of this object? -->Is it circular or hexagonal? I mean the surface that 2 boxes extrude up from. See 2 cases below: * If it's hexagon, then logically there has to be pinch in transition between hex and circular. (IMO, It's about geometrical rule, where the angle…
Hi guys ! It is my 2nd post. This forum is very usefull, thanks for all information! :) I have one question that is care me all time - it is how to model all small details on object. As example I post here reference of projector. By the red color small details are marked. 1. First, when I try to model it in 3dsMAX I did…
First post, first stupid question..... I know for some of you 'THIS' problem is a silly thing to ask, but I am stuck right now and need your help here. Take a look at the pictures and the OBJ file. Hard_Soft_Edge_Connect.lxo I need to connect these two objects. I know that I do have too many edges on the inner object but…
I am trying to model a snowmobile and im having trouble planning out how to do it. From what i have read in this thread so far im pretty sure ive made some mistakes. Has anyone here modeled a snowmobile or something similar, like an ATV or jetski that can give me some tips or guidance? I would appreciate any help that i…
Hello, how could I delete that pinching? I have read other solutions with cylinders in this thread and generally recommend to generate more geometry, the problem is that in this case I think that both cylinders would have to double maybe triple edges to have the support loop that is required to eliminate that pinching, and…
Yeah, I figured :) (I wan't complaining, I was just pointing out that smoothed version of it looked glitchy). Also at the end of the middle part still looks "ngony". Tip: Try to go to Object -> display -> wire and show all wires. Also look a bit to OpenGl render to make your wireframes more readable. Edit: Anyone knows of…
