Finished it tonight as well, about 9hrs on normal, and i died a lot. Felt satisfied afterwards. Really had no fucking clue what happened, but I like blowing shit up :) I never finished Crysis 1, so maybe that is my problem, hehe. some really awesome visuals, just wish there was more . Ours doesn't care what you use for bones (mesh, bones, biped, helpers) or what hierarchy, only that if you want rotational-inheritance then you need a hierarchy... i.e. hand moves thru an arc when elbow is rotating, only when the hand bone is linked to the forearm bone. There may be something to your first diagram EQ. IRL specular hilights aren't exactly additive because if incident light hits the oily surface on the skin and bounces right off, it will not illuminate the yellowish, diffuse flab underneath. PNGs can be lossy, if you use a lower bit depth. Yes it's lossless compression, but you can tell it to save 8bit for example (256 colors).
