It would be very rare in a AAA studio for an environment artist to make weapons, with the exception of very large items like cannons or catapults. But if you have all the skills required to make environment props, there's no reason you wouldn't be able to make a decent weapon.
Small update playing around with the foreground items and dabbling in some more vertex painting on rocks and tree trunks, might keep the Ivy on the tree trunk in the foreground or might swap it for mushrooms just need to wait and see. Feedback is appreciated as always :D
It does it automatically. You can see the values updated under the low-poly item. Perhaps try fbx or some other file format. Otherwise try disabling 'discard backface hits' under baking options and see if anything shows up.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. @atomander I think you're right. I'm working on adjustments and adding details. I think some decor/personal items on the shelves and desk will help w scale as well, so that's my next step.
ive still got a few items to add into the uvs mate but yeah i can see what your saying about the waves. ive straightened some out and will upload tommorrow the uvs with it more compacted and accurately spaced :D cheers mate
Yeah this is the trick. The problem with freeze in Max is you cant unfreeze one object, you can only unfreeze all. The above solution lets you lock and unlock items at will. Just dont forget to unlock them before handing the file over.
Got the item in-game, with the particle mesh accepted as well, but the particle effects for a Jugg blade just aren't lining up correctly :\ Once I get that sorted out, or an alternative to it, I can make my promo shots and place it on the workshop x)
This is beautiful and great design. I don't know quite about the merchandise workshop and it seems like Valve doesn't take eyes on that much since I see many items that accepted for such a really really long time ago. Anybody knows why?
We're working on it and trying to wrap our heads around what the best way to do this is. This is something that the Marmoset as well as Sketchfab folks have asked for. Unfortunately we also have a ton of other higher priority items that we have to get to. Leo
PoE blows Diablo 3's itemization and end-game out of the water. While it does feel a lot more sluggish combat wise. More so it's actually very similar to the movement in d2 which some people see as a good thing.
