Seems silly, I personally like to be able to see the sculpt as a whole to make sure everything is working well together and there's some continuity to the whole piece. But it makes sense to do it separate, I always mess up layers (I'll spend 20 minutes drawing on the wrong layer and can't fix it). Awesome drawings by the…
Depends on what your end goal is, environments might get messay or confusing if doing it with bits and pieces. If its a prop for sure there is no limit. The more you draw from references the more mental library you have for later however its always always a good idea to write down or draw roughly your idea.
Thanks for the idea, but that's not really what I was going for ^^ I am currently drawing some new concepts for the weapon since I have the same feeling about it... =/ It's just a little too boring. If I get around to drawing them I'll upload some ideas and see what you guys think would be the best design. =)
no ranting :) you have the right to your own opinion. and yeah studies are always good regardless. i do studies all the time and i do full characters at the same time. to me any doing is learning. doesnt matter what it is im learning. and no i dont paint or draw. at all. im terrible at drawing lol
Adam, you better do something cool with that spandex glove. Like draw something on it, draw your source of power. Good to hear things are going forward at least, shame with the lack of consoles and computers :( But now might be a good time to catch up on a whole bunch of TV series or movies or.. something :P Get well…
That is my point. Drawing them and studying them in 2D will be far more beneficial for the developement of his skills in the long run. In either 2d or 3d. Instead of modeling a lowpoly silhouette version of a leg, he could draw many different types of them in a shorter amount of time and just drill down on studying that…
This is "the beast" This is a first sketch i really like. It is painted on a computer, with 2B pencil in Corel painter. So i will texture and sculpt a model based on this drawing. His eyes will make stronger impact than current draw, when textured. Overall impression? fell free to comment, i would really like to shear you…
looks great dom, wonderful form distribution Was the eye crack a late addition? It looks fine, but it's the only piece of damage on him, I'm wondering if that was part of the original design of it you added it to draw the eye more towards the face. The mouth, SCM muscles and chest ball thing all seem to kind of draw the…
FREE STUFF For real though, Ctrl+paint is a brilliant site. I used it in conjunction with a few of the most recommended drawing books to get started with drawing last year and the content was just as good as the books. Great format, great presentation style, and super clear but at the same time highly informative Not…
Nicely done Mr. Machete, nicely done. If you are following your ref drawing, you can see that there is marely a chipped of brick texture detailed in some places in the ref drawing. It had been detailed everywhere on the wall of your model. So my suggestion to you is. Redo the wall texture, and spend some more time on it.
