That's really interesting, I've noticed it too using crease sets (double turbosmooth). I find I end up using a combination of the two workflows to combat the issue. Crease sets are super nice to use since you can quickly preview the mesh in maya smoothed with [3].
RaptorCWS, thank you very much for the feedback. I'll make the little damages on the texture on my next training. I'll remember this :) (i like to work on several project else, i become annoyed and give up :( ). However,in order to try your tips, i made this (quickly)... :)
The flickering on the Tech Shop looks like it was programmed to blink like that rather than being broken and random. It should flicker quickly and stay off or on for an extended for a period of time. Got invited to a MP game last night by a coworker, was a bunch of the team vs gameplay (not free roam). Initially got my ass handed to me, but got a handle on the controls quickly. It was definitely an eye opener to suddenly have the person shooting at you not miss 90% of the time. :D
Not a big update, but a lot of work on the face. Still plenty more to do. I figure I can do the armor/clothes quickly, so I put my freetime into the face as it's the most difficult part for me. Currently sitting at 1710 triangles. http://chrisholden.net/ladygray5.jpg
thanks for the comments everyone. I really need to find more time to paint, something always comes in between when i feel like painting ;o. Heres something i did today, trying to figure out how i can quickly sketch mechanical stuff:
enjoying the game so far the rvr is fun, especially if you find a group and work togheter taking all the points on the map. i hope they put in more banks so i can take on a proffession. my inventory fills up to quickly so im not bothered with that yet.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah the "chinballs" are now gone, replaced with a more conventional (if you can call it conventional) chin. Changed the proportions of the character a little although im reasonably happy with the new outcome. I want to work on the cape more as its quickly sculpted just as a placeholder.
It's difficult to convey thought on the internet since you can't see the facial expressions or hear inflections. I found people taking offense to things I was saying when I first started posting on the net. I quickly learned to use smilies (and now probably do that to much)
Good luck with that. My kids use to suffer from that almost every year when they were younger. It's usually gone after a week, but it can very quickly turn into pneumonia. One of my daughters spent a night in the hospital because of it. Take it easy until things are cleared up ;)
