just bake it onto a plane and alpha it onto the low poly. sort of a waste of time using it as floating geo because in the low rez model its going to be hardly noticeable. Another thing is that you might want to exaggerate the falloff on the rivets if you want them to bake
@kaushik manna Have you literally not been able to find any tutorials or existing examples on this forum, or have you not found a satisfactory solution? There should be a couple already floating here, if not already on Google. For me the issues became specific steps in any one of those tutorials.
Ive never seen an mmo trailer that shows characters blindly flailing thier weapon straight through enemies with no collision detection while numbers float in the air. Thats how I feel when I play most mmos but the trailers always look awesome :P
Since we don't know what kind of technical requirements you were allowed, many of us can't comment. For example, was tiling allowed? Floating geo for the windows? How close would you get to the model? Only diffuse map or Spec allowed too? Etc.
Is there any of his newer work floating about anywhere? Im from a console-gaming background so missed out on alot of the pivotal ID stuff that he was putting out. Being able to see where he is now and what he is pushin about would be awesome.

Hi guys, For a project I'm working on, I imported a model from Fusion to Max. I've done this workflow many times with Solidworks before so I'm in familiar territory so far. On this occasion, I'm converting to mesh on import as that gives me a water tight mesh, rather than welding the borders myself. Anyway as part of the…
Thanks for the comment MrHobo =) Actually I like the flat cupid bow, but on the following image I tried to shape it more while keeping it quite flat. Deepened the philtrum a bit as well. I was inspired by my wife for the upper lip, she has a flat cupid bow an almost flat philtrum as well but it's very challenging to sculpt…
If i would apply for Environment Art i would do a floating island and a detailed breakdown. I would use everything from megascans to desinger textures mixed with my own assets. In the end it has to look like made from one person. A homogenous art flow is key.
