Woa... smoothing groups in modo? That seems kind of cool for max users crossing over. Does modo do hard/soft edges like Maya (not a modo user) that would be really cool too I bet.
As mentioned, probably need to work on the grip some. Looks off. The rendering also, a lot of the edges look too soft I guess. In your first picture the edges look considerably better, maybe a lighting issue?
Hi guys @ alvordr, thanks for the comments! @ garriola83 Thanks for the tip. If I could get a bit of clarification, do you mean that the rim lighting is too soft? Or is the specular highlighting for the metal material not sharp enough? rogermein
Oh okay, so I need to bevel the edges of the lowpoly, but what makes the bake so low quality, like really blurry/pixelated. And how do i fix uv splits? By making the edges soft?
Ok I have worked more on eyes , eyelashes( is that the name ? ) , nose , lips and cheecks with the soft tool selection and polygin handmoving , what do you think and what can I do else to improve the similarity ? :( ... ?
aaah hahaha, yeah but you know, im working on the soft shadow line and adding some imperfection on the wall as you said, and it's looking good, rlly appreciate these "Minor Things" haha, :D thanks again Viko!
Isn't properly synced to anything. Go ahead, bake a box with soft normals in maya, check it in maya HQ viewport(it will look great) then throw it into marmoset. =P We used Maya for exporting and animations for marmoset, but that's the extent of it.
you can move selected components (faces, verts, or edges) along their normal when the move tool is selected by holding ctrl+middle mouse drag. Combine with soft selection for an easy way to inflate or deflate objects.
Does one of the vertex paint channels control normal intensity? Sort of looks like one on the left does. The dirt layer is leaving a soft transition. Take a look at Virtuosic vertex blend tutorial on 3d motive.
If you have 2010 then you have two choices on the graphite menu. In the freeform tab there is Drag and Shift. Shift is good because you can use it as soft selection to move a single vert or several really easily.
