For polycount you actually have it posted up in your viewport. That display on the top left shows you the polycount for everything in your scene, and if you select something it shows the count for the selected object in the second row. As for the uvs, it would help out if you posted them. The girl looks like she has a seam…
Been busy working been working on some small stuff this weekend when I could find the time. I started on a new Hand Painted Texture exercise to help improve my skills. Here is what I have so far. I am really excited for the texturing phase, so far I have about 3 hours on this project. About 50 minutes in modeling both…
This looks neat! I think the blue/yellow pipes/wires are a bit too colorful, pulls the eyes away from everything else. Same with the blue straps on each bundle. Your images are very slow to load, which makes your post or thread very slow. Besides being impolite to others (making people wait, wasting mobile data caps,…
how high is the polycount then? i've read somewhere that the triangle count doesn't really affect the fps that much (guy pretty much forced all of the models in crysis 2 in lod 0, increased visible polycount by ~50%, about 2-3 fps loss), it's more in the textures. like, a 4K texture with a 10k tri model demands way more…
If anyone wants numbers, I just got a little under £8.5k (that's probably about $16k USD) for 12 months sales of my Stormcrow's Spirit Witch Doctor set that was a finalist in the Polycount contest. It's the only thing I have on the store so far, so I can be pretty confident that's all sales of that set. I suspect most of…
Hi ah_lex the tricount is based from this website http://www.rsart.co.uk/2007/08/27/yes-but-how-many-polygons/ which states that the tricount of Drake from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was 30,000. Additionally Polycount user "poopipe" suggested that "The usual rule of thumb is 25% of the total character polycount."…
Excellent point. Interesting that a model of a lower polycount can actually be more expensive than a higher polycount model. Maybe in a more pedantic world we would not be having this discussion on the vertexcount forums :shifty: That thread pretty much sums up when to worry about optimisation too. What I took from it, in…
That low poly version could lose a ton of triangles. I bet you could easily bring it down to something like 500 triangles or less. Remove anything that doesn't affect the silhouette. Triangulate faces, you dont need all the edges to run through the whole blade. How many faces do these cylindrical shapes on the handle have?…
Hi, welcome to Polycount :) Always been a fan of Skulltula's, and I like your take on it. But to be completely honest, If you're plan is to be an artist within the games industry, I'd seriously think about taking on a single prop or small diorama like scene in order to work on something using current techniques. Your…
There are different AK models used by different people I think. I guess some special forces prefer all black weapons for obvious reasons, so I think his diffuse is okay. The middle metal part seems to bright though. The whole render looks dull / plastic-ish due to bad material. I also wonder what this model is for. For a…
