might be cool as long as they keep it separated from the current autodesk tools by default and only integrate specific enginelinked functionality when you install the engine itself.
Next time try deleting the userHotkeys.mel and userNamedCommands.mel from your documents\maya\[version]\prefs folder. This should reset all of your hotkeys back to default.
Work on an object for hours, without saving at least once, and then program crashes and no backup was made because it hadn't been saved once so was still Default scene....
Hey Mike, have you tried turning the bias down in Xnormal to something like 0.0001? It makes quite a difference to the results from the default, in my experience.
By default, the height channel blending mode is Linear Dodge(Add). You can change it to normal if you want your new detail to override the layers underneath.
No... in the edit poly modifier x is bound to constrain to face... or at least for my defaults it is. But the thing in fletch's image is what it messes with so just make sure that is off.
For the diffuse coefficient render output, set it's gamma to 1. Ensure your materials are set to 100% diffuse amount (defaults to 80%). That could be what's washing it out.
