Just wanted to pop in and say that you've done an awesome job so far. Also, if you can, please keep posting wireframes :) They are very helpful in seeing how you went about modeling these great props. Thanks, and great job!
Added some close-ups on the assets used in my environment. Does anyone think this is redundant? I'm considering adding another image of each with wireframes. Which may be even more redundant. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for expressing interest, here is the process I use for some of my images. Start with rough concept. Model design, using Cinema4d. Tracing! Use wireframe when needed. Details! More Details! Rendering! And the final image. --- Bonus image
There's not much value in showing the triangle count. That doesn't matter so much anymore on modern hardware. As long as the mesh is reasonable, I can see the wireframe and I can tell if you're being stupid with the geometry or you're cutting where it counts.
This presentation is great. My only issue is the wireframe renders, instead of white use grey because the white is very harsh on the eyes. Just noticed, why don't the copper/gold belt buckled have the straight piece in the middle that notches the belt?
Great work with the clothes of the two women. I was just wondering if you could post up a the wireframe of your latest work? I am curious as to how you laid out your polygons for the pieces that make up the skirt thing.
Smoothing groups? Turn off specularity so we can see the mesh clearly. Maybe on the export they've been messed up? Post more details, a wireframe, how it looks in your app (and what app you're using) etc.
They look really nice, but the wireframes could definitely need some love. Like Kanni3d said, don't be afraid of triangles in your low-poly. Also think of details which can be solved by the normal map (e.g. the "wrapping lines" on the handle)
Making tris into quads makes no difference to the actual triangle count of a model, it will remain the same. It will look better in a wireframe but that's it. Remodeling it is a very good idea and you could make a thread about the rework here on PC to get some good tips.
got base colors and normals done for the character i am working on [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLjXzCWBPHk"]vidcapture002.avi - YouTube[/ame] and with wireframes [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac6Wnhh8fPc"]vidcapture003.avi - YouTube[/ame]
