Let me be the first to say BAD... FREAKING... ASS! Love the look-n-feel of this piece man. And I really like how you handled the bottom flatness. Inspiration folder getting some love this morning. Keep it coming man. -cheapjuevos
Check out the profiles of heads and skulls and note the depth of the eye socket (Orbit). Broadly speaking, the skull shape is lacking. In your next wip post, if you could post imgs without hair as well. I'd be happy to comment n crit
Focus less on the small details, and start with planes of face will help. Also, less subdiv. Once you manage nice proportions and forms, start hitting facial features with real model refs. http://www.pinterest.com/PyrZern/reference-faces-n-hair/
N-Gons are also okay, just to be clear. As long as it looks good, it's a valid high poly model. You got some hard edges going on, which scan be resolved with subdivision modeling or having high-level bevels at the hard edges of the gun.
Got nothing more to add except chill out. Re-editing and optimising as your project progresses is all part-'n'-parcel of game development, something I've personally only come too realise myself. So go with the flow bro :)
check out the graphite tools. there are some awesome tools in there. Geopoly is a personal favorite. it turns any n sided polygon into a perfect circle for the startup script have you tried entering expert mode and re enabling the ui parts you want.
on the scenecapturecubemap properties take the far plane to a bigger amount. its 500 by default i usually just set it to 1000000000000000000000000 (and it will correct for the highest number it will process). though if you want to be extremely accurate you ca go by putting in the measurements n whatnot.
