Oh, one critique on the graphics, not sure about other resolutions, but on mine the top kind of ends apbruptly. It's not a big thing at all, but if you were to some how close it off rather than just have it end I think it'd look a bit better. :P Still awesome though.

No problem, I'm sure everyone could use some ideas for their portfolio. I am planing to have the images link to a separate page with the break downs and keep the main page shorter. I guess whatever image quality I end up having will end up depending on the speed of the host.
After the donut tutorial and a few tutorials I actually never finished because I felt I didn't understand enough I finally started an online course and the first project was to create a viking shield. It feels like you are missing my point. I am not talking about your lowpoly situation at all. What I am saying is that when you are sculpting you seem to have worked on a to high subdivision to start with. So your end highpoly or whichever level of poly you end up with looks blobby and unnatural.
i have to admit that i really dont like the face either. i had another one with more work on the modeling but ended up saving over it :poly118: and ending up using this one because of the time that i had left to hand back the project. maybe ill just put a big visor on the helmet hahaha
Thanks! glad you like it :) Yeah I was thinking I added too much volumetric fog too, I'll fix that stuff at the end Thanks! these are all great points, I'm working on some props to populate the scene right now so hopefully it looks less empty at the end, also love the hologram stripper idea.
Hey, I'm up for hanging out too! I mainly talk to my Uni friends these days but we're all Industry Job hunting so most of the conversation ends up with us all bummed out at the end :( I think my Steam ID is on my profile but I'll start joining hangouts and slack tomorrow! :)
Not too keen on the texture so I may end up do it all again tomorrow. I am ahead on schedule for completing this by the end of Saturday so I can afford to doing the texture again. I'll double check in the morning though, could be the fact I'm shattered and grumpy that I think the texture is shit.
