No... in the edit poly modifier x is bound to constrain to face... or at least for my defaults it is. But the thing in fletch's image is what it messes with so just make sure that is off.
For the diffuse coefficient render output, set it's gamma to 1. Ensure your materials are set to 100% diffuse amount (defaults to 80%). That could be what's washing it out.
The Rest Save might be the culprit, especially if you alt tab out of the application or leave it idle a lot. By default it is set to save every 1 minute of rest.
axxic3, if you go into your User CP and click on Edit Options, you can set Default Thread Subscription Mode: with the dropdown to Instant, Daily or Weekly.
@IlyaIvanovArt - undo is disabled by default. It significantly improves painting in the viewport across all hardware configurations. We let the end-user decide if they want to enable it or not. :smile:
Go to your world properties and find your lightmass settings. If you start with the default cube scenes you'll be getting the environment lighting that's set in those settings.
I have had this same problem with an assignment mesh for university. Try changing the renderer, so if you are using Legacy Default Viewport, switch to Viewport 2.0.
