Updates!! I'm having a bit of trouble with the roof, it seems to curve down and in at the back at the top like the hull of a boat but the back left part seems to be straight. Getting there with the block-out though, and actually quite enjoying Maya sofar.
Update: Redid the lighting from start, fixed some issues with the pipes and the roof. still working on it, but just for update, here it goes and the stair diffuse, http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4mdOg-hXyg/UP2NsTj6ScI/AAAAAAAAAY8/YhIJJJBU104/s1600/stairs_color.jpg
Something like this could be a bit of both. I'd say there is definitely a bake going on, but any surface detail (like grooves on the roof, tire treads, vents etc...) could be very quickly added in using nDo or something similar
This is a very cool project, I really love your texture work :D I do think you can lower some polygon. For example the stairs and the roof. Really look forward to the end result, keep it going :)
I do have a clean install, I've never installed dDo on this computer before. Pretty sure the Forest Rock preset shouldn't look like this. The spec and gloss values of each detailing preset are completely through the roof.
Thnx xChris! I finally graduated so got more time to work on this now. Added some benches and roof tiles. Up next some more different wallpanels and wires cables etc. Here is the latest screen:
This is looking awesome, great progress Only thing I would say is the roofs are looking kind of flat. There's a neat trick for that on the wiki; http://wiki.polycount.com/ModularMountAndBlade?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=Modular_MountBladeMod_02.jpg Keep it up!
Good start, always loved that concept, the only thing I notice a bit off is the roofs, they're more steep in the reference, but then its too early to say anything. Looking forward to how this turns out. Keep it up!
Such a warm painting:)I like the feel. I actually interpreted it a bit different than you Ninja, I thought he was on an angled side of roof with a tilted camera, nice seeing how different one can interpret it.
Another update! Added some more shapes to the diorama and re-topped a few pieces (my meshwork a couple of years ago wasn't the best). Now only the walls and roof to do before getting everything ready for sculpting.
