Seems odd to have a undo system like this when the program is intended to be used for baking. Like I said above the scene doesn't need to be big for the delay to become noticeable. Do you think there are any plans for improvements with these issues?
I sure did shy away from getting decals on the objects which are not the floor or the walls. I should've at least introduce some vertex paining on them. Thanks for the explanation. Gonna keep that in mind in the future for sure :D Cheers!
Hey there guys! Just to let you know, I updated just about everything in my portfolio to have better renders and displays. Let me know what you think! Thanks for the tips, and sorry for the super delayed response.
An embargo doesn't prevent reviewers from rushing through. It only delays when they can publish the results. They don't sheepishly look at their shoes and shuffle back to their machines and start playing in a meaningful way just because you embargo'd them.
Our wiki has a bunch of good material. Just start digging in, and most importantly make things to test out the tutorials. Ypu learn best when digging in and making art. Don't delay! http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Environment
Finally signing off on this one. Sorry about the delay I have been rendering my reel and finishing up some other things for the end of my post grad at humber college. You can view it on my website :)
alright sorry for the delay got one "A heart is the only thing that has value. If you have one, get rid of it. " edit: sorry not a christmas movie, i can come up with another if that was the point of this thread, my bad if so
5 years of development on a game that is playable for years to come with well released DLC's that are of equal value and quality, then it is well worth the longer delays. I mean, seriously, how many people are still playing GTA and buying Shark cards?
Looks great. I'll take a better look in the morning. First thing that popped up in my mind was ... wow that blue and yellow decal on the binocular low-poly is wayyyy too saturated for the wear and tear on the rest of it.. More critiques tomorrow.
excellent link! I saw that site but not the gallery. Any pointers on decal placement? I'm not too hot on the subject. I actually reada few physical model painting tutorials before starting on this. some interesting stuff indeed. classy
