[WIP] Diablo III Throne room
Yay ! another D3 fanart. I started this some months ago but had to stop, slowly coming back to it. The goal was to do a high def next gen scene based on Leoric's throne room. With PBR and shit in UE4 probably. I sculpted most of the meshes, still need to do some details ( hangings, pots, bones, etc. ). Just gonna leave… -

lol, thats what I thought as well. :D This simulator is a good, but nothing new. And definitely not a future generation. Future generation would be something close to 3d IMAX Screen, and you would actually feel the heavy vibe when you get shot. Now that would be something close to future gen simulator. :) -

I actually think the face could be quite pretty with the right texture. It's always a little tricky to judge. The proportions are a little exaggerated but again, with the right texture work you should be able to pull it together nicely. Are you going to use 3d coat for styled texture approach? This is entirely optional and simply to help those who would like to concentrate on one area of study. The idea is to create a simple modern day prop that would be at home in any current gen game! -

Small update, I've tweaked the lighting, added the hedges and flowers. Thanks for the critique Locator. It looks a lot better now. The grass is indeed to sparse right now. I'm not quite sure how much is reasonable for a current gen game, But as long as my frame-rate doesn't suffer I'll add some more :) -

Looks like a solid start! 2 - 2,5k tris for a next gen first person weapon seems really low though. I would say anywhere from 5 to 15 k would be appropriate! Ofc it's always good to optimize everything and produce clean topology etc, but polygons are not really a problem anymore. -
Re: UT 3 models polycounts and specs?
Well as soon as UT3 or Gears for PC ships all you have to do is load up the editor and look at all the props, characters, weapon models inside the editor and see the tri count and material sheet sizes. That's probably the easiest way to figure out next gen specs on an Unreal Engine 3 title.
