I'm happily a Modo convert, dont be surprised to start seeing this software take off in the long run. Its always good to have some proficiency in a number of apps (for employment purposes), but ultimately you should stick with the software that is the most empowering. Aside from a few features, I really have no interest in…
Hey Timotii, I'm not an animator, but there are a couple things I notice right off the bat. The first thing is that at the end of the stride the feet lift off the ground too much, like he's trying to kick dirt backwards. The other thing is that his hips "ease" into the contact too much. I think it'd be better if the hips…
So I reworked the lighting on the ship now. I'm liking how the shadows are falling and showing off some of the geometry as opposed to before. I went with a warmer color for the light coming from off to the side, and a cool fill light. I still may reduce the intensity of the lights, but I want to wait to see how it looks…
I run a cintiq 21ux and 2 23" monitors. I run the cintiq and one monitor off a geforce 8800gtx, and the second monitor off a geforce 9600. It works ok, but frankly I should have gotten another 8-series card for the monitor, since 8/9 series cards use different drivers. As a result I can't launch the nvidia control panel -…

Things are getting lost with each other, most notable the boat. This looks like it'd be a damp or humid area, there doesn't seem to be any specularity. I couldn't even tell there was a statue on the right. You're current lighting approach is working against you. Missing atmospheric effects: fog/mist, dust particles, etc.…
Car paint, although shiny, doesn't really have an specularity to it. You should turn off the specular highlights and modify the reflections fresnel. The reflection seems to completely turn off on the parts of the model that is closest the camera, in real life, a car is pretty much reflective no matter what angle you are…
I've freelanced for a number of years and have never been asked to do an art test for it. 99% of the time they go off your portfolio. Sometimes it's a one off thing, so doing an asset just so you can do another asset in the same style is silly. I would say it's not really the norm as far as indie freelance goes at all. The…
if the body is gonna be covered up entirely then you can skip fixing the anatomy. are you working off photo references or just winging it ? however if you wanna work more on getting the anatomy better here is a paintover and also a reference sheet for the feet. the hands and face anatomy looks off as well but i would need…
Op you really need to be careful about how you come off as youtuber, you won't gain subs by spamming. In fact that's a big turn off for most people... Just stick to giving updates in the first thread you already made. As someone who has his own youtube channel... you don't need subs to unlock youtube features you just have…
