metalliandy> Thanks! Looking forward to it. We discussed using the Lys software for the students game projects here at our school and we want to correctly implement the roughness/mip-map curve for our shaders to get it accurate according to how you guys process it.
That hair is so much better! I'm not a big harry potter fan myself, even though i've watched all the movies, but i think he wouldn't allow himself to look sad or down before his students. I'd go for the bitter expression.
As a student we use maya in school. i learned for 1 year. then i tried cinema 4d... and uau !! what a difference. i think cinema 4d is so intuitive, and know with the Cmotion and Sculpting.... adding to mograph and if you can had Xparticles ... is the best
Hello! I am new to polycount, but would definitely be interested in a collaboration project of some sort. I can model in Maya, UV unwrap, texture in Photoshop, and know the Unity 3d engine. Oh, and I am a student studying Game Art and Design.
eesh, sorry man. Understood. Educators giving out outdated/wrong information is a huge topic right now. He might have wanted it this way so student art was easier to review. Hopefully that's it. But no, it's not doing the high quality of your work any favors.
just wanted to say thanks for making this. as Autodesk products aren't accessible to me (non-student/don't have money to burn), I've always wished that SDKs would release stand-alone exporters instead of plug-ins. it's great to see something like this
Alphawolf here! to me Polycount went from this great local dive bar with the best drinks and people, to a student bar . I drink else where now but i still pop in for a pint every now and again and to check what the kids are up to these days.
I remember my painting teacher, who had lost an arm and half of his leg in war, telling the students: "You don´t have any idea, how big the world still is with only one arm left." all the best! m
as a student you should just worry on doing it instead of asking if you can. unless you make money from an ip concept art or something like that. just get to work and do cool enviros , thats all you should worry at the moment.
I am a student 3D modeler. I don't really have a site set up yet to preview my work but i have plenty of screenshots of my workflow and examples of my work on twitter. Let me know if I can help!
