I am using Digital Tutors and looking at Unreal Documentation. It's uber early but it's going well. I am concentrating on getting that Xmen Vs. SF camera view. I'll probably add some zoom in and zoom out via Samurai Shodown.
The Ash Lake shield, I'm really digging it, the other 2, not so much. Ash Lake feels like a real object. With the blood wolf I like the outer circles, but the central design doesn't feel real, it feels like a digital design
Thanks guys :D Another update :- Another shot of my Rex I've been working on during lunchtimes. Added some quick polypaint colour for a bit of flavor. A few proportional tweaks and digit detailing along with final texture and pose to be done.
Thanks for the link JacqueChoi. Scott Eaton is actually using plates from this book in his class and I was not sure where they were from before I see the book now. I took the digital sculpting class he is teaching and it was amazing experience.
JBoskma: I was on a tour of one of their studios in February and the guy giving me the tour said Home on the Range was their last animation film produced in the classical manner - with everything else to be done digitally. I agree with you, this is a travesty. One that seems, unfortunately, to be inevitable.
Not my favorite of his, but it's still good, some track are great too. Reznor is definitely a marketing model for every musician out there (the way he did Ghosts was perfect--I wish I could buy digital downloads like that all the time).
Nice pic's Jouste, How about hooking your sketchbook viewers up with some holiday wallpaper eye candy to slap on our desktops, if you have time :) Halloween vs. Thanksgiving theme? Either way keep the digital ink flowing!
soul, you're the man. all these low poly models you've been doing look beautiful and seem to me like the digital art equivalent of doing hand-crafted miniatures--they're tiny, but so precise and immaculately detailed. keep them coming
I got a graphire and it took me 2 days and some adjustment of pencil/brush settings to draw just as I did with paper and pen. A wacom is a must have for texturing and digital art :P ah i need to try the other tablets...
Lots of good recommendations in this thread already. Check out Justice (or any other Ed Banger artists) and Digitalism for more the Daft Punk electro/house side of things. Also seconding Boards of Canada and Pendulum as well as Aphex Twin, just because.
