Hey just wanted to say that i like the way the house is looking so far, i just wanted to ask if this house could be built with a texture sheet and making it all modular, not sure if its a good idea
Or how about literally "$500 to $1000"? After all, it's a modular PC system. 100 gb, 500 gb, 500gb SSD. i3, i5, i7. Geforce GTX 660, 680, 690. $500, $750, $1000.
Many thanks for the reply, It has give me a lot to think on, I guess it wouldn't need a tiled texture (I can save that for the more eye level modular pieces) . attached is a better picture of the second piece
Just realized I never posted on this thread. Your use of modularity and lighting on the Medieval Cellar scene is truly inspiring. I honestly can't wait to see what you do next. Consider yourself followed...
Canaday, when you say environment artists rarely work in their program do you mean they aren't making their own assets? That's one of the reasons I wanted to an EA. Is it like dragging and moving preexisting modular stuff?
mm, not precision engineering but I'll be hoping to use voidworld for modular pieces which need to fit together precisely. Also, I like to quickly mirror things by just typing -1 in whatever axis I need
Cheers Ged ! Ya most race ships (about 9-10) share 1 large texture. There was a huge amount of modularity, this helped us stay true to the schedule, budget but most important push the quality farther.
There are hacks and workarounds that will address some of the issues you have, but seriously, it's not worth it. Design your modular pieces in a way that takes advantage of natural break points and seams, will save you lots of time and trouble down the line.
You're currently being very inefficient with texturing the environment as a whole instead of using a modular approach. Though if you wish to use your current method - you should at least put some more effort into texturing.
New Update: I'm including this new bundled bonus asset with every single perk. You can check out this asset here. http://fatboxsoftware.com/unity-shop/4574957484/modular-race-track-kit/8552042
