I spoke to some people about it a while ago as I was wondering the same thing, they mentioned to try work at the target res rather than shrinking down, e.g. if 64x64 is what's required work at that rather than doing a 256 or 128 and shrinking it to 64 at the end. They also mentioned trying to keep UV's 'straight' to…
I too am Hyped up for the new expansion. Your concept looks very outlandish and awesome. I really enjoy the bold silhouette. You could have pushed the 3d forms of the spikes a little more to match the concept. It mostly reads like a forge, but I can see it being used as a shrine. I could see Kargath Or Bladefist using this…
its coming along slowly man just remember the biggest thing is the creases in the right place or it will look shit, also i think the jacket might needs to be puffed out a bit more if you need reference or anything i know the guys at the shrine of remembrance in melbourne aus i could hook you up if you wish, but so far its…
Love all the new work everyone is posting. Here's a new piece I did last night. Let me know what you think. "Shrine of Storms" www.artstation.com/artist/tim twitter: @randomspirits @mariomanzanares thanks for the kind words. Yeah I totally need to spend more time on each piece. I took your advice with this one and put more…
It sounds like you're suggesting that not every window requires a light, and that we should only add lights where we can see them from a reference point. I used to think that all windows acted as light sources, so I assumed they all needed a rec light. How can I turn off the rec light for the windows? If the sun is shining…
I did something very simple. Shrink whole face area and then shrink additionally his eyes. Then give him some fat on the side. Also make ears, even basic flat spheres on the sides, just to see overall picture :) I hope it look better and fix is super easy to do with masking face -> invert mask-> using scale tool.
Havent updated in a while, finished the bakes for the shrine - Working on setting up the tiling wood materials in substance I'll use to texture most of the wood props, Been playing around with ways to remove visible seams. I've set up my uvs so they tile perfectly and I'll be baking the diffuse from these tiled uvs off on…
Some WIPs of a current scene. A small shrine-ish, would be set in a foresty glade I guess. The idea is to add a bunch of vines and moss later (maybe) to get a deserted feel. C&C appreciated. WebGL scene for full 3d preview is here. Aaand some pictures. Here's the leaves in their current state: And here are a better view of…
Thanks :) , there is a lot of stuff to do regarding the level, I'm planning to build some sort of shrine kinda similar to the one you see in shadow of the colossus : reference : The structure is kinda really big and challenging tbh. I put a lot of work on paper for designing the modular parts and maximizing the…
holy shit... Cordell lives! lol. nice start man. I think the noisy foreground has a lot to do with the contrast-y shadows in the maze like pattern under the walkway taking up a good third or quarter of the shot. I really like the different take off of a "throne" room and more of a shrine type environment. Pretty dope.…
